Join AIA|DC and Jeff Cianni of Lutron Electrics to discuss the importance of lighting and lighting control in residential buildings. This presentation takes the participant through various lighting control strategies to help enhance occupant comfort and building performance.

This course will give participants a strong understanding of the effects of daylight on a residential space. With this knowledge, course attendees will leave able to specify the window treatment needed to meet overall aesthetic goals. Participants will also leave able to advise clients on window coverings that optimize the overall functionality of each application.

After attending this presentation, participants will be able to:
1.) explain the impact of efficient practices or appliances on home energy bills;
2.) identify specific areas within the home to improve energy efficiency;
3.) identify and locate common “energy hogs” found within the home; and
4.) design energy-efficient, customized solutions for the home.
