In July 2008, NCARB launched ARE 4.0. This version of the Architectural Registration Exam updates and improves the current format by combining graphic and multiple-choice content in each division of the exam. ARE 4.0 emphasizes the problem-solving skills architects regularly use in day-to-day practice.

Make a commitment to get licensed in 2013! AIA|DC's ARE Boot Camp is your first step towards licensure. Pertinent information regarding each division will be covered, as well as test format and sample graphic vignettes.
New this year: extended prep sessions; team-taught courses lead by a seasoned instructor and a recently-licensed emerging architect assistant; professional mentoring with our AIA Fellows; and bi-monthly ARE Study Group sessions at the District Architecture Center.
Participants in the program will be asked to sign a contract (non-legally binding, of course) outlining their commitment to get licensed before the year is up. Schedule and instructors are as follows:
