MEMBERSHIP LEVELS

Architect Member (AIA)

An architect who is currently licensed to practice architecture, lives, or works in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.

Annual dues are prorated as follows:
January 1, 2012 - March 31, 2012 (100%) $284.00
April 1, 2012 - June 30, 2012 (75%) $213.00
July 1, 2012 - September 30, 2012 (50%) $142.00
October 1, 2011 - December 31, 2011 3 months free with 2012 membership (15 months for the price of 12 months membership)

Associate Member (Assoc. AIA)

Not licensed to practice architecture, but meets one of the following:

  • Recent graduate with a degree in architecture (recent graduates receive a complimentary AIA|DC membership for up to 18 months after graduating. New Graduate Member Application)

  • Participate in career responsibilities recognized by licensing authorities as constituting credit toward licensure (i.e., interns)

  • Are under the supervision of an architect in a professional or technical capacity

  • Are a faculty member in a university program in architecture

  • Hold a professional degree in architecture

Annual dues are prorated as follows:
January 1, 2012 - March 31, 2012 (100%) $94.00
April 1, 2012 - June 30, 2012 (75%) $70.50
July 1, 2012 - September 30, 2012 (50%) $47.00
October 1, 2011 - December 31, 2011 3 months free with 2012 membership (15 months for the price of 12 months membership)

International Associate (U.S. Resident)

Hold an architecture license or equivalent from a non-U.S. licensing authority, but without license in the U.S.

Annual dues are prorated as follows:
January 1, 2012 - March 31, 2012 (100%) $85.00
April 1, 2012 - June 30, 2012 (75%) $63.75
July 1, 2012 - September 30, 2012 (50%) $42.50
October 1, 2011 - December 31, 2011 3 months free with 2012 membership (15 months for the price of 12 months membership)

Emeritus

An AIA member for 15 successive years and 70 years of age, or 60 years of age and fully retired, or incapacitated so as to be unable to work within the profession

Annual dues are as follows:

Unassigned Membership

A member of another AIA chapter may also be an unassigned member of AIA|DC, enjoying all member privileges (including listing on the aiadc.com directory, reduced rates for awards programs, etc.) except voting. Annual dues - $150.00
