An architect who is currently licensed to practice architecture, lives, or works in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.
Annual dues are prorated as follows:
January 1, 2013 - March 31, 2013 (100%) $315.00
April 1, 2013 - June 30, 2013 (75%) $236.25
July 1, 2013 - September 30, 2013 (50%) $157.50
October 1, 2012 - December 31, 2012 3 months free with 2013 membership (15 months for the price of 12 months membership)

Not licensed to practice architecture, but meets one of the following:
Recent graduate with a degree in architecture (recent graduates receive a complimentary AIA|DC membership for up to 18 months after graduating. New Graduate Member Application)
Participate in career responsibilities recognized by licensing authorities as constituting credit toward licensure (i.e., interns)
Are under the supervision of an architect in a professional or technical capacity
Are a faculty member in a university program in architecture
Hold a professional degree in architecture

Hold an architecture license or equivalent from a non-U.S. licensing authority, but without license in the U.S.

Members applying for Emeritus status must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Be an Architect or Associate member in good standing with 15 consecutive years of membership immediately before applying
Attain the age of 70, and be retired from the profession of architecture (or from a related occupation, in the case of Associate members)
OR
So incapacitated as to be unable to work in the profession

A member of another AIA chapter may also be an unassigned member of AIA|DC, enjoying all member privileges (including listing on the aiadc.com directory, reduced rates for awards programs, etc.) except voting. Annual dues - $150.00
